Corona Virus Update

Update 27 June 2020:

We will do our utmost to stay open and help all our patients as usual during the Corona Virus crisis.

As we slowly move into Stage 2-3-4 in Scotland we are slowly opening up our books to regular patients but this is still not normal or back to business as usual. We have the following in place:

  • Strict Social Distancing practices in place in the workplace and for patients, including appropriate scheduling of patients to maintain this practice – this may mean practising with no front desk team to ensure that social distancing procedures are in place and that no more ‘households’ than absolutely necessary are in your practice at any one time
  • Hand washing and sanitising in place as well as a strict cleaning schedule which is recorded
  • Suitable Triaging online or over the phone prior to patients attending the practice and on attending the practice to ensure the need for face-to-face consultations
  • Suitable consent for patient to complete
  • Vulnerable patients can seen with increased triage and protections in place
  • No COVID or shielded patients attending the practice
  • If you have not been seen as a patient for several weeks, it is imperative that we reassess whether the existing care plan is suitable for you, note any changes  and reflect that in your notes, especially if you are returning to the clinic for acute or urgent care. We will prepare a new treatment plan if needed. We will continue to make notes reflecting the current situation and communicate this at all times with you.

The key points and the requirements of this phase are as follows:

• If you have symptoms consistent with COVID19: Fever, shortness of breath and or a persistent cough you must not attend the clinic and self-isolate for 7 days.

If you have concerns about Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are worried about symptoms, you must stay home and call your GP or NHS 24 (111) out of hours where you will receive help.

At Inverurie Chiropractic Clinic we are following Local Infection Control Policies:

All of our staff are fully updated and we follow these procedures as a matter of course:

We have hand sanitisers in Reception and in every treatment room
We have paper towels in the bathroom – please use to dry your hands and discard in the bin
Hand washing: our therapists wash their hands with soap before and after all procedures. They also use hand sanitisers.
Broken skin is covered with a waterproof dressing.
Bench Cleaning – after each treatment per patient, the treatment table is cleaned with an antibacterial wipe.
Our therapists wear gloves when there is direct contact with blood, body fluid, non-intact skin or mucous membrane, after which the gloves are discarded and hands washed with soap & water.
Each treatment room has the above equipment in stock and ready to hand.
Please be assured that we are keeping up to date with all developments and advice from both the Government and Public Health England and will continue to take the necessary precautions.
